GUYANA’S lone AIBA one star referee Ramona Agard left for Haiti on Wednesday to officiate in the Haiti National Championship which punched off yesterday afternoon in St Marc.
Agard’s participation was made possible following talks between Guyana Boxing Board (GBA) president Steve Ninvalle and the Boxing Association of Haiti. Ninvalle explained that the trip to the French-speaking island signals the commencement of a systematic international exposure programme for local boxing officials.
This includes having a Guyanese Certified Two Star referee judge and an International Technical Officer (ITO) this year. Agard is expected to return home on Monday.
