The decomposed body of a 58-year-old man was discovered Saturday morning by a female at the Better Hope Backdam on the Essequibo Coast.

The body of Cedrick Riley called “Jaykee” of Dartmouth Essequibo Coast was discovered in a rice field close to the Better Hope Public Road.

As the news quickly spread persons gathered at the scene where the body was identified by a relative of Riley.

The body was retrieved by detectives attached to “G” Division. It was taken to the Suddie Hospital mortuary and is awaiting a post-mortem examination .
