Supply resident killed in accident

THE police are trying to locate the driver of a car which fatally struck down a 34-year-old man at Supply , East Bank Demerara on Sunday morning.
Dead is Shayne Haynes, a father of two.

The man’s sibling told the Guyana Chronicle that her brother left their home around 04: 00hrs and while walking along the roadway in front of their neighbour’s home, he was hit by a speeding car.

She said that Haynes, who worked as a clerk at a business establishment on Lombard Street in the city, sustained mainly head injuries.
The woman said she heard her brother calling out to her and when she peered through her window, she saw him lying on the ground bleeding from his wounds.

He was rushed to the Diamond Diagnostic Centre and was later transferred to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC) where he died three hours later.
The police visited the scene and retrieved closed circuit television (CCTV) from a nearby home as they attempt to trace the car’s registration.
