AN Upper Pomeroon River citrus farmer was arrested early Tuesday morning after 2.22 kilograms of cocaine were found on his premises.

Reports are that the arrest followed a search of the farmer’s premises by ranks of the Police Narcotics Branch. The man has since been processed for court.

Last week, a Smithfield, New Amsterdam poultry farmer was arrested with over 12 pounds of cocaine at the Moleson Creek ferry stelling while on his way to Suriname.
The suspect, Trevor Edward Loo, was arrested after the police found the drug in his vehicle.
