Dear Editor
THE Ethnic Relations Commission (ERC) takes this opportunity to extend best wishes for a speedy recovery of H.E. President David Granger who is currently in Cuba receiving medical treatment. The commission also wishes to note that its thoughts and prayers are with him, First Lady Sandra Granger, his children, the rest of his family, relatives and friends.
It is during these moments, particularly, that the collective wish of the nation for his good health and full recovery be a reflection of bipartisanship from all spheres of our society. This has thus far been realised and the ERC– like all our countrymen and women– is heartened at this national outpouring of support.
It is a firm demonstration that, despite our differences, we can come together in the best interest of our nation and importantly, our people. The ERC reiterates that togetherness is vital in helping our nation to overcome its inherent challenges. The President is foremost a Guyanese, who, like all of us, would be buoyed and strengthened in spirit, knowing of the nation’s support as it awaits his return and resumption of his duties.
Regards
Ethnic Relations Commission
