MOMENTS after an East Coast Demerara (ECD) resident was wounded and robbed of his cell phone at the Berbice car park, the two bandits were pursued and apprehended by public-spirited citizens and promptly handed over to the police on Sunday.

Police said that the 32-year-old victim of Enmore, ECD, who had to receive medical attention for a stab wound to his face, inflicted with an icepick, was treated at the Georgetown Public Hospital and sent away. His property was not recovered.

The suspects of Middle Road, La Penitence and Hadfield Street, Werk-en-Rust, are also being questioned in relation to several recent robberies.

Meanwhile, a male suspect who was being sought in connection with an armed robbery committed on a Sophia resident at David Street, Kitty on October 22, 2018, was early on Monday morning apprehended at Kitty and a search of his person revealed that the 30-year-old resident of Hadfield Street, Lodge, had concealed in his crotch, an unlicensed 9MM pistol with two (2) live rounds. He is being processed for court.
