St Pius, West Ruimveldt set up final berth

THE 2018 final of the COURTS Pee Wee Football tournament will see either West Ruimveldt or St Pius walk away with the title and bragging rights.
Both teams secured their respective spots after semi-final action yesterday at the Ministry of Education ground on Carifesta Avenue.

St Pius had a one-goal result at the end of the whistle when they faced Tucville; Jamal Fraser being the decisive scorer in the 39th minute.
On the other end, West Ruimveldt were made to work for their victory against Mocha.
Mocha had the early scent of victory when they scored first in the 4th minute thanks to Jiheam Lewis, but Mark Phillips (32nd), Jonathan Andries (42nd) were the persons that snatched the victory away.

In the 13-16 playoff, Jerimiah Parks’ 7th minute strike helped Colaaco overcome Soesdyke while Ezra Clarke spurred Plaisance to a 1-0 win over Timehri.
In the 9-12 playoff, Marian Academy lost 3-4 on sudden death penalties to Mae’s after Jeremy Ten Pow scored for Marian and Mae’s benefited from an own goal.
South Ruimveldt trumped Enterprise 2-1 thanks to a brace from Collin Saul (7th, 28th). Enterprise had Christopher Witter (29th) on target.

St Agnes thrashed Golden Grove 5-0 in the 5-8 playoff with strikes from Justin Alcindor (p-5th), Shawn Murray (15th 16th), Darius Chester (19th) and Cleon London (30th).
Meanwhile Garey Primo helped North Georgetown dismantle St Ambrose 6-0 with strikes in the 2nd, 13th, 17th, 18th, 35th and 40th.
The final is billed for next Sunday..
