Cuffy250 forum to focus on green economy

THE CUFFY250 Committee will be hosting its sixth annual ‘State of the African Guyanese’ Forum, under the theme: ‘Positioning African Guyanese Villages and Communities for the Green State Economy.’

The event, which will be held at the Critchlow Labour College today (Sunday), focuses on village and community sustainability.

Participants will be engaged in a number of workshop sessions aimed at encouraging self-activity and increased productivity in areas that will bring benefit to African Guyanese communities.

Topics that will be discussed include food science/agro-processing, information communication technology, steel fabrication for the oil and gas industry, cattle, small ruminants and swine and village improvement planning.

“African Guyanese villages and communities have a right and a responsibility to be integrally involved in the process of their development,” the release from the organisation noted.

President David Granger will be giving the keynote address. Other presenters include: Minister of Public Telecommunications, Catherine Hughes, Dr. Grayson Halley, Dr. Patsy Ann Francis, George Union, Selwyn Anthony, Ingrid Sarabo, Dr. Patrick Williams and Dr. Norman Ng-A-Qui.
