Road World Championships in Italy
AFTER his debut win at the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) C1 Para Cycle Road Race in Montreal, Canada, in April this year, differently-abled cyclist, Walter Grant Stuart is now set and ready for the UCI Para-Cycling Road World Championships in Maniago, Italy, which begins on Thursday.
Grant-Stuart, who has been competing with success against able-bodied riders on circuits in Guyana and abroad, has always been relishing the challenge of competing against other differently-abled riders. It became a reality in April when he competed in Canada.
His current trip to Italy has been realised with the assistance of the National Sports Commission (NSC), the Soesdyke Neighbourhood Democratic Council, Grace Kennedy and the Key Store.
Riders from Argentina, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Belarus, Brazil, Greece, Hungry, Indonesia, Ireland, Iceland, Slovenia, Switzerland, Slovakia, Sweden, United Arab Emirates, Ukraine, USA, Venezuela, Canada, China, Columbia, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, The Dominican Republic, Italy, Japan, Korea, Latvia, Malaysia, Netherlands, Spain, Estonia, Finland, France, Great Britain, Germany, New Zealand, Peru, Poland, Portugal, Romania, South Africa and the Russian Federation will be competing.
Grant-Stuart has been listed as an MC-5 cyclist.
