POLICE ranks on a mobile patrol in Diamond on Wednesday chased a vehicle which had collected a suspicious-looking man in front of the Diamond Diagnostic Centre and found a .32 pistol after arresting the driver and occupant.

Press Officer Jairam Ramlakhan said the vehicle which was on the western side of the road facing north, upon seeing the police, sped away. The ranks gave chase and subsequently intercepted the vehicle and arrested the driver and occupant.

An unlicensed .32 pistol with 12 live matching rounds which the driver threw out of the vehicle were immediately retrieved.

The driver, of James Street, Albouystown and the occupant who is a security guard of Perry Street, Tucville, have been taken into custody and are assisting the police with their investigation. The vehicle has since been lodged.

Meanwhile, around 19:20hrs Tuesday evening, ranks of the Police Force’s Narcotics Branch acting on information , promptly proceeded to a location at Dennis Street, Sophia and arrested a 25-year-old male resident with an unlicensed .32 revolver without ammunition.
