WITH liberalisation of the local telecommunications sector and more and more channels coming on stream, one local broadcaster is looking to bring a new spark to an old flame.
Wendell Badrie, host of the Mid-morning Delight has embarked on an ambitious new programme to empower men through uplifting and positive messages.

During the launch and first airing last Tuesday, Badrie contended that he got the idea looking at the everyday stories of men.

“Our vision of momentum is that it will not only be a radio programme, we want to take momentum to the streets, we want to take it to every community where we believe we can reach out to men and we can help to inspire, motivate and uplift men,” he added,
The programme will cater for men in the workplace, at home, in schools and a host of other scenarios for men between ages 18-50.

Violence, abuse, employment, dating, sports, family and health, among other issues are some of the topics the programme aims to address. It will be aired on Tuesdays on 98.1 Hot FM from 20:00-22:00hrs.

“We believe that we can help, we can reach out and help men to prosper and to flourish, this is Guyana and we are one people, one nation, one destiny and I believe we have what it takes to uplift, to build and to encourage each other,” Badrie said.

He added that young men need to understand their roles in society and feels that the programme can help many males who are misguided and are without avenues to ask questions pertaining to their situations.

The show is being powered by Five92 Tees/Roc (Courtyard Mall), Caribbean Beat Restaurant and Bar (Pike St. & Stone Ave. C/Ville), D. Boodhan & Daughter Off Licence General Store and Game Express. (ssookram@guyanachronicle.com)
