THE Harpy Eagles Boxing Gym of Albouystown, Georgetown, dominated the Schoolboys category of the Mike Parris Schoolboys and Juniors Amateur Boxing tournament, when the Guyana Boxing Association (GBA) staged its first leg of the series yesterday at the Andrew `Six Head’ Lewis Gym.

In the second fight which was one in the 60-64kg weight category, Colin Williams (HE) secured a split decision over FYF’s Moses Crawford after three bruising rounds.
In the 70-74kg category, Alex Adams (VBG) secured a 3-0 points’ win against Michael Mangal of FYF.

In the 105-109kg weight division, HE’s Joshua Hinds forced the referee to stop his contest against Maladshi Jones (FYF) in the first round and in the 95-99kg weight class, FYF’s Stephon McDonald out-punched Joel Anthony in a bruising three-round contest that brought the spectators to their feet at the crowded `Six Head’ Lewis gym.

In the Juniors category, there were three exciting fights that were concluded by press time. In the opener, Richard Howard who hails from a family of boxers and represents the FYF Gym, scored a split decision win against VBG’s Shequany Wright in a 100-104kg contest;
