A 68-year-old man sustained a gunshot wound to his arm during the  wee hours  of Wednesday morning following an attempted robbery at  Boadeux, Canal Number One ,West Bank Demerara.

Reports are that the man’s son was downstairs in the family’s yard around 02:30hrs when two masked men, one of whom was armed with a gun, attacked him. The men then led the victim upstairs where they met his father. A scuffle ensued after the intruders demanded cash. The elderly man sustained a gunshot injury to his right arm in the process.

Reports are that the intruders ran away from the scene and the injured man was rushed to a private hospital. Police are investigating the incident.
