Robbery under arms accused remanded

TWO men were taken before Magistrate Leron Daly, Friday, on two charges of robbery under arms.

It was alleged that on May 9, 2018 at Princes Street, Georgetown Patrick Smith and Graymond Rodriguez, armed with a gun and in the company of others, robbed Bidranaught Sooklall of one LG phone worth $45,000, $ 500,000 in cash, one laptop valued $60,000, two watches worth $26,000 and other items worth $70,000.
It was further alleged that on the same day at Princes Street both men, in company of others and armed with a dangerous weapon robbed Jazzel Ramrose of three gold chains worth $300,000, one pair of gold earrings worth $20,000, one phone worth $300,000, $120,000 in cash, one suitcase with cosmetics worth $100,000 and alcoholic beverages worth $60,000.

Both men denied the charges.
According to the facts, related by the prosecutor, on the day in question around 07:00hrs, the virtual complainants were in bed, when they were held at gunpoint by the defendants. Two other men participated in the robbery. As a result the defendants were placed on an ID parade where they were pointed out.

Bail was refused and they were remanded to prison by Magistrate Leron Daly. The matter was adjourned until June 8, 2018
