In the aftermath daring  $5M robbery in which a businesswoman was robbed at Caledonia, East Bank Demerara (EBD) by motorcycle bandits on Monday , police on Wednesday appended a taxi driver who has since confessed to the crime and carried investigators to retrieve some of the cash.

Reports indicate that the 33- year- old taxi driver of Supply, EBD after being apprehended on Wednesday, admitted that he was the accomplice of another man who was nabbed shortly after  the robbery on Monday. The taxi driver told investigators that he collected his share of the money, spent some and the lawmen were able to retrieve  $300,000 from him.

The suspect also told investigators that he  handed over another $400,000 to the mother of his accomplice who resides at East La Penitence, Georgetown. Police visited the woman and conducted an interview and she admitted to receiving the cash.

Police have since lodged the cash as investigations continue.
