Essequibo businessman reportedly robbed after hit-and-run

POPULAR Essequibo businessman, Nateram Ramanand called ‘Juice man’ of Charity, Essequibo Coast is hospitalised, nursing injuries to the hip and head after he was reportedly struct down by a bus in Georgetown on Wednesday morning.

According to information reaching Guyana Chronicle, the businessman was rescued by a taxi driver who found him next to the road corner in the city and took him to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation.

While details are sketchy, information revealed that the businessman was crossing the road at the time when he was hit by a bus after which he was left at the side of the road where he was reportedly robbed.

Ramanand is the owner of a popular juice centre at Charity. He supplies fresh fruit juices and coconut water along the Essequibo Coast.
