DRAG-racing action is back this weekend at the South Dakota Circuit with the King of the Strip 2 and it is expected that the competition will be bigger than ever.
One man has his eyes set on the 11-second class. His name is Raymond Seebarran and along with his Nissan Pulsar and his team of sponsors in Ray’s One Stop Auto Parts, Clearview Windscreen Repair and Big Kahuna Hot Dogs, he is looking to dominate that class.

Speaking to Chronicle Sport, he predicted that this meet will be one of the largest and as such, he is going all out to get that elusive crown.
“This time around, I plan to lift that 11-second crown. This is my third event (drag racing) and the first time, I made it to the final and lost and the second was cancelled on account of the incident. I was in the final then as well,” he said.

This time around, I want that trophy,” he added, saying, “I feel great. I had an awesome time circuit-racing just over a month ago where I picked up three podiums in my class and three more in a class higher than mine so I want to translate that form come Sunday.”
He noted that the competition on Sunday will be stiff but that does not faze him from remaining confident of the title.

“I know of the Trinidadians and Surinamese but to tell you the truth, I am focused on myself on race day. I’m looking to take every race as it comes and not over-pressure myself. I am confident in myself.”

The King of the Strip 2 is sponsored by the Trans Pacific Motor Spares, BM Soat, Prem’s Electrical, Mohamed’s Enterprise, JAPARTS, E-Networks, STAG and Tropical Shipping.
Admission is $500 for children and $1 000 for adults.
