Supenaam man found with 177 grams of cannabis and 19 grams of cocaine


A sixty-three-year-old unemployed man of lot 678 Market Street, Supenaam, Essequibo Coast, is presently in police custody after a quantity of narcotics was found on his premises. According to information reaching this newspaper, a party of policemen went to the home of Leonard Paul on April 15 and conducted a search in his generator room.

Police then unearthed a bulky plastic bag that contained three transparent zip lock bags. Two of the bags contained a quantity of leaves, seeds and stems suspected to be cannabis, and the other plastic bag contained cake-like cream substance suspected to be cocaine.

The suspected narcotics were shown to Leonard Paul and he was told of the offence committed and cautioned. He was immediately arrested and taken to the police station with the suspected narcotics which were weighed.

The cannabis amounted to 177 grams while the cocaine weighed 19 grams. The suspected narcotics were marked, sealed and lodged at the Anna Regina Police Station. Leonard Paul was placed in custody pending charges.
