THREE men appeared yesterday (Friday) before a magistrate on a simple larceny charge. They are: Carlos Scott, 23 years old of the Pomeroon ; 23-year- old Glendel Gonsalves, also of the Pomeroon and 22 year- old Fitzroy Calvan, a Venezuelan.

It was alleged that on March 19, 2018 at Friendship, Pomeroon River, the three men stole a 75 horsepower Yamaha engine worth $1.3 million, a gas pump valued $400,000, a remote worth $100,000 and other items which add up to a total of $1.7 million. They pleaded not guilty to the charge which was read out to them in court.

Meanwhile, the police prosecutor objected to bail, based on the seriousness of the offence and he further added that the defendants gave caution statements.
Bail was refused by Acting Chief Magistrate Sherdel Isaacs-Marcus and the matter was adjourned for March 28, 2018
