A 20-year-old man of Duncan Street, Kitty appeared at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court on Monday on two charges of robbery with aggravation.
It is alleged that on March 16 at Irving Street, Georgetown, in the company of others, Randy Bowen robbed Julian Delouse of one cellphone worth $24,000.
It is further alleged that again at Irving Street, in the company of others, Bowen robbed Royston Beveny of a cellphone worth $21,000
According to evidence given in court by the prosecutor, the virtual complaint was waiting on transportation when the suspect approached him and demanded the cellphone. As a result, a report was made at the Kitty Police Station after which the suspect was spotted and arrested. A search was carried out on him and the said phone found.
Bail was granted by Magistrate Judy Latchman in the sum of $200,000 and the matter adjourned to April 09.
