Wins for Christianburg/Wismar; Linden Foundation

THERE were wins for Christianburg/Wismar ‘Multi’ Secondary and Linden Foundation, as the 10th Edward ‘Screw’ Richmond memorial Linden Secondary Schools Football tournament continued.

Both teams secured 3-1 wins in the preliminary round of the Under-18 tournament.

The reigning champions Christianburg/Wismar gained their 3-1 over Harmony Secondary, through a brace from Michael Adams which came in the 65th and 71st minutes of the game.

Adams’ brace put the game out of reach after Andre Peters 20th minute opener was cancelled out by Bryan Culpepper in the 29th minute.

In the other game, Linden Foundation Secondary turned back the challenge of Private Schools Combined 3-1, aided by a double from Shawn Jackson in the 23rd and 46th minutes.

The advantage was increased to 3-0 through Jamal Peters in the 54th minute.

However, the Private Schools Combined were able to reduce the scores with a strike from Javonte Lewis in the 65th minute.
