OUTSTANDING individual performances from medium-pacer Keyon Gangoo and top order batsman Javid Karim propelled Blairmont Young Blazers to the final of the West Berbice Cricket Association (WBCA) Under-19 tournament.

Gangoo claimed 5-21, and was the chief destroyer in the semi-final game against Achievers last Saturday at Bush Lot.

Batting first, Achievers were skittled out for just 99. Kevin Sinclair, 42, was the main contributor with the bat. Gangoo received support from Seon Glasgow and Nigel Deodat with two wickets apiece.

In reply, Karim stroked a gusty unbeaten 47 and Glasgow made 16, as the winners ended on 105-5.

Sinclair claimed 3-11 in a losing effort. Blairmont Young Blazers will meet DEdward in the final.

Meanwhile, president of the WBCA, David Black, told Chronicle Sport yesterday that a date and venue for the final will be decided shortly.
