WITH the aim to win this year’s Guyana Cricket Board (GCB) Inter-county Under-19 tournament, both Berbice and Essequibo cricket boards have commenced their preparations.
Thirty-nine players from Berbice were part of a training session, which was conducted by National coach Julian Moore and manager Michael Newland recently at the Albion ground.
Sessions are expected to be ongoing over the coming weeks and will attract more cricketers, depending on how creditably they perform in the youth tournaments, which will get underway shortly across Berbice.
Over on the Essequibo Coast, the ECB began its trial yesterday, and it will run until March 22.
Thereafter, two limited-over matches will be followed by one two-day game, which will be played at the Imam Bacchus ground.
