Woman remanded for stabbing brother

A 33 -year-old woman, who allegedly stabbed her bother with a knife, was on Monday remanded to prison by Magistrates Sherdel Isaacs-Marcus for attempted  murder.

Hazel Gonsalves was not required to plea to the indictable charge which alleged that on March 11 at 1 Mile Road, Potaro River she wounded Keron Gonsalves with intent to commit murder.

According to reports on the day in question there was a heated argument between the two siblings. It was reported that the woman armed herself with a knife and stabbed her brother.

Police prosecutor Gordon Mansfield objected to the women being released on bail on the seriousness of the charge since the victim is still hospitalized.

The Magistrate remanded the woman to prison and transferred the matter to the Acquero Magistrates Court for April 3.
