Guysuco Training Centre completes successful tour of Suriname

GUYSUCO Training Centre cricket team get the better of the Nickerie cricket team.

GUYSUCO Training Centre (GTC) completed a successful tour of Suriname with Spartans volleyball club of Nickerie from February 22 to February 25 last.

A contingent of 40 apprentices and six officials represented the GTC in Nickerie, Suriname.
Games played were volleyball, in which GTC won in straight sets 3-0, 3-0, 3-0. There was six-a-side football; four teams were involved two teams representing the GTC advanced to the final after defeating Nickerie in a four-team encounter. Goal scorers were Shamar Wilkie with 3 goals and Shaquan Spencer collected 2. The GTC team 1 won the final.

In a 15/15 over cricket match between hosts Nickerie, GTC won the toss and batted first, scoring 141 for the loss of nine wickets. Jermain Pollard top-scored with 38 and Devindra Latchman chipped in with 18. In reply, the Nickerie team were restricted to 102 for 9.
The GTC players were presented with a trophy for their success. The Sparta volleyball club, being the premier organiser, was thanked for the invitation and organising of the games. Words of appreciation were also expressed to Guysuco Training Centre for turning up and it is hoped that another exercise can take place.
