…Min Greenidge to lead delegation

PRESIDENT David Granger will not be attending the 29th Inter-sessional Meeting of The Conference of Heads of Government of The Caribbean Community (CARICOM) to be held in Haiti next week, the Ministry of the Presidency announced Saturday.

In a statement to the media, the MoTP said President Granger regrets his absence, but has opted to “remain in Guyana to focus on domestic issues at this time.”
Foreign Affairs Minister Carl Greenidge, who is also performing the duties of prime minister, will lead a three-person delegation to Haiti.

The Inter-sessional meeting is being hosted in Haiti from Monday, February 26 to Tuesday, February 27, 2018.

Haiti’s President, H.E. Jovenel Moise, assumed the Chairmanship of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) from January 1, 2018. He takes over from immediate past Chairman, Dr Keith Mitchell, Prime Minister of Grenada.
