Big wins for Christianburg, Morgan’s Learning Center

THE Annual Milo Schools U-18 Football tournament continued on Sunday with big wins for Morgan’s Learning Center and Christianburg/Wismar Secondary.
The Linden-based side whipped Dolphin Secondary 5-1 in game two at the Ministry of Education ground, Carifesta Avenue.

Scoring started as early as the 3rd with Javier Smith starting the party in favour of the mining town side. However, Dolphin were quick on the response with Akeem James in the 8th minute bringing the game level.

Andre Mayers, one minute later placed the game back in favour of the Linden side before Mikel Adams added his bit in the 25th.
Lennox Richards 41st minute strike added salt to the wound with Akeem Caesar closing off the proceedings in the 53rd.

Meanwhile, in the day’s closing game, Morgan Learning Center beat out Bishops’ High School 7-0.

The Carmichael Street institution had no answer to Morgan’s Darien Dickson who scored four times (6th, 38th, 46th and 59th).

There were also a brace from Dorwin George (24th and 54th) while
Rebuen Miller (69th) accounted for the other goal.

In the opening game of the day, Vergenoegen were 4-2 victors over Ann’s Grove, thanks to a brace from Jermin Gill (11th and 53rd) while Staroy Lee (12th) and Ronaldo Macey (61st) were also on target.

The consolation goals for Ann’s Grove were scored by Carlos Cole (39th) and Seminar McPherson (68th).
