Charity woman remanded on cocaine-trafficking charge

CLARINDIA Evans, a businesswoman of Charity Housing Scheme on the Essequibo Coast was on Friday remanded to prison after four grams of cocaine was allegedly found in her salt.
She made her first appearance before Magistrate Ester Sam at the Suddie Magistrate’s Court.
It is alleged that on February 15 she had in her possession four grams of narcotics at Charity. On February 15 the police duting a search at the woman’s stall at Charity, found the suspected cocaine in a plastic bag of salt on a shelf. The mother of four however pleaded not guilty to the charge. Evans is a stallholder at the Charity Market and usually sells groceries and clothing.
Evans will have to return to court on March 22, 2018. The court also heard that she had previous drugs-related charges.
