– Wintz drafted in Jaguars squad

FAST rising all-rounder, Keemo Paul earned a maiden call-up to the West Indies-A squad for the remainder of the unofficial Test series against the touring England Lions.
A reliable source close to the A-team confirmed to Chronicle Sport yesterday that Paul, who replaced the injured Miguel Cummins, was expected to join the squad in Jamaica yesterday.

Paul, the 19-year-old, will remain with the squad for the final two unofficial Tests. The second four-day Test is scheduled for Sabina Park from February 18 to 21, before the teams switch to day/night action at the Vivian Richards Stadium in Antigua for the final Test from February 26 to March 1.

The Windies-A won the first four-day Test by two wickets in a close encounter on the final day on Wednesday at the Trelawny Multi-Purpose Stadium in Jamaica.
Following the ‘Unofficial Tests’ Windies-A will face England Lions in three 50-over matches at the Coolidge Cricket Ground in Antigua. The squad for these matches will be named at a later date.

Meanwhile, an official from the Guyana Cricket Board (GCB) has confirmed that fast bowler Paul Wintz has been drafted into the Guyana Jaguars squad for the ongoing Regional Super50.
Wintz, who played 21 List-A games, capturing 34 wickets, departed for Antigua on Wednesday evening.

The Jaguars’ hunt for a tenth Regional one-day title is on track. The victory Wednesday evening against the Leeward Islands Hurricanes pushes them atop the five-team standings on 22 points from seven games, three ahead of Jamaica Scorpions (19 points),
The Jaguars will play the Scorpions from 14:00hrs today at Coolidge in their final preliminary game, while third-place Kent will play bottom-place USA in the 09:00hrs game at the Sir Vivian Richards Cricket Ground.

The top two teams from each group at the end of the preliminary round will contest the semi-finals.
