THE time is swiftly drawing near to this weekend’s season-opening Endurance race meet of the Guyana Motor Racing and Sports Club (GMR&SC).
One team, in particular, are anxious to strike gold in the 1600cc class by ousting their competitors.

Team ER racing drivers, comprising Davin Panday and Azaad Hassan, are making their intentions known ahead of the event set for this Sunday at the South Dakota Circuit. .
Chronicle Sport caught up with Panday, who said his 4AGE powered AE91 Toyota Corolla is almost ready to go.

“The car had brakes failure and temperature issues at the last event in December, but we’ve done some changes and these seem to be working. Just some testing and tuning during this week and we’ll be ready for race day,” he added.

When asked about the stiff competition within the 1600cc group, Panday had this to say, “The group is probably the toughest of all the groups, with cars like the Ramchand’s Levin and Motor Trends AE91 topping the list, but we’re confident in what we have; the guys worked hard on the car and we’ll give it our all.”

Panday also expressed thanks to his loyal sponsors P&P Insurance Brokers, John Lewis Styles, Shoe Source, Harry Rambaran Auto Sales, A&R Jiwanram Printery and Emran & Raymon General Automotive Services.
