A SECOND suspect is in police custody as investigations continue into the murder of Purcell Moore, who was killed at Old Road, Craig, East Bank Demerara (EBD), on December 20, 2017.
The suspect, who was apprehended Tuesday, is being investigated as the shooter.
On December 27, 2017, the first suspect, Kelvin Persaud, 21, of 14 Avenue, Diamond, EBD, appeared before Magistrate Faith McGusty at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court after being charged for murder.
The 40-year-old clothes vendor, Purcell Moore, who returned from Cayenne, French Guiana a few days before, was shot and killed during a robbery.
According to reports, an argument reportedly erupted between the victim and the suspects and it escalated into a scuffle, during which the armed suspect allegedly discharged several rounds.
Moore was rushed to the Diamond Diagnostic Centre where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
