Teen charged for allegedly robbing Lamaha Springs sisters

A 19-YEAR-OLD miner was on Wednesday remanded to prison by Magistrate Fabayo Azore for the $3.1M armed robbery committed on two mid-aged women who were bound and gagged during the invasion at their Lamaha Springs, Georgetown home last December.

Kris Fernandez is charged for being in the company of others and armed with guns on December 13, 2017 at Lamaha Springs robbed Jacqueline Percival of a quantity of gold jewellery valued $456,000.

He was further charged with being armed, robbed Elizabeth Percival of three cellphones, a television, a quantity of gold jewellery and other items totaling $2.7M. The unrepresented ‘C’ Field Sophia resident denied both of the charges and was remanded to prison until January 31.

According to reports Jacqueline Percival, 52, and Elizabeth Percival, 50, both of Lamaha Springs, Georgetown were asleep on the day in question when they were awaken by three men, two of whom were armed. Their hands were bound with scotch tape by one of the alleged bandits who held them at gunpoint as two of the men ransacked the house for valuables. Jacqueline was able to untie herself and then her sister.
