Two gun-toting men on Thursday robbed a cashier at the C&F Mall located at Bagotstown Public Road, East Bank Demerara  of an undisclosed sum of cash.

Reports are the cashier was at the Western Union section  on the upper flat of the two storey building, transacting her business in a caged area when the two bandits approached her while pointing a gun. The men demanded cash which the woman had in her possession.

The armed robbers , after grabbing the money , exited the outlet and ran down the stairway. The cashier subsequently raised an alarm and a nearby businessman who is a licensed firearm holder gave chase.

The bandits joined a awaiting yellow motor car even as the businessman discharged several rounds at the vehicle. The men escaped via Water Street, Bagotstown.

Police are investigating the incident.
