Let us align ourselves to his ways

Dear Editor
THIS missive serves to be a voice of reassurance to my fellow citizens. That better days are ahead, regardless of the challenges this dear land has experienced and is presently experiencing. I know that God is in control and he has a plan for Guyana.

The reports of death by horrific vehicular accidents, moral failings by some of our leaders, corruption, domestic violence and suicide have taken a toll on the psyche of this nation; but the destiny of the land is in the hands of God. He determines the appointed times and boundaries of our habitations.

Be assured that better days are dawning on us as a nation and, thus we ought not to be negative in our projections because of the state of affairs we are presently experiencing. There is always darkness before light and valleys before mountains.

So as a nation let us be optimistic, desire good and dedicate our energies towards climbing out of the valley of decadence. The great Nelson Mandela said “There is no easy walk to freedom anywhere, and many of us will have to pass through the valley of the shadow of death again and again before we reach the mountain top of our desires”.

The destiny of this great nation is not in the hands of man, but in the hands of the Omnipotent God. Let us align ourselves to his ways and he will exalt this Nation.

Regards
Bishop Joseph Inniss
