A HUSBAND and wife are among three persons in police custody who will be charged with separate offences and who will appear at the Bartica Magistrate’s Court Thursday November 30, 2017 to answer separate charges.

Police last Monday arrested a 22-year-old miner of Kopinang Village, Potaro River, with an unlicensed single-barrel shotgun and three live 12-gauge cartridges. The arrest was made about 13:40hrs at Kurubang Backdam, Potaro River, as a result of intelligence gathered.

The following day about 04:00hrs police acting on information went to a camp at Kurubang Backdam and conducted a search, during which they found 338 grams of cannabis. A 33-year-old miner and his 29-year-old wife of Grove Village, East Bank Demerara, are in custody.
