A number of inaccuracies in your report

Dear Editor
SOMETHING must have gone wrong with your reports on discussion of our last Statutory Meeting held on Monday, November, 27, 2017, which appeared in the Wednesday, November 29, 2017 edition of your newspapers, captioned “City Hall wages bill at $112M”.

In fact, there are a number of inaccuracies in this report. However, we wish to highlight one error which we consider critical to our operations. In the first paragraph, lines 5 to 7, it was reported that the Town Clerk, Royston King, continues to refuse to do a manpower audit. This report is grossly inaccurate.

The records of that meeting would reveal that when the question was asked about the audit, the Town Clerk in his response assured the Council that the audit was completed and the findings would be considered during the budget discussion for 2018. I wish to make it pellucid that the word ‘refuse’ was never used by any Official of the Council in this matter at the meeting.

We continue to make the point that it is important that those who report on issues relating to the Council, be careful and report only the facts. Further, we are always willing and ready to provide clarifications on issues about the Council.
