IN observance of National Disability Week 2017, the Guyana Council of Organisations for Persons with Disabilities is holding a two-day capacity-building workshop for its 23-member agencies.

The workshop began on November 26 and ends on December 3.

National Disability Week is being observed this year under the theme, “Transformation for a sustainable and resilient society for all.”

The Unites States Embassy Youth Action Network did a one-hour advocacy session on Monday with those present at the workshop held at Red House, on Main Street.

A disability awareness walk is scheduled for Saturday at 09:30 am, beginning from the headquarters of the National Commission on Disability on Croal Street.

An awareness session will also be held with new recruits of the Guyana Police Force to sensitise them about persons with disabilities.
