A 26-year-old Cadet Officer attached to the Guyana Police Force (GPF) was on Tuesday sentenced to two years in jail for the offence of discharging a loaded firearm.
Glenroy Campbell of Evans Street, Charlestown, was convicted by Magistrate Zamilla Ally-Seepaul at the Sparendaam Magistrate’s Courts. Campbell was found guilty of the offence, which read that on March 9, 2013, at Sophia, Greater Georgetown, he discharged a loaded firearm at Abdul Cort with intent to maim, disfigure, disable or cause Cort grievous bodily harm.
The matter was prosecuted by Assistant Superintendent of Police Stephen Telford.
