A CENTURY and a half by Guyana Jaguars captain Leon Johnson sent a stern message to the Trinidad Red Force and the rest of the teams in this year’s Professional Cricket League (PCL) Four-day competition.

Johnson was in fine form as he slammed 163 in Guyana’s 484-8 declared total, leaving Trinidad the arduous task of chasing that down.

The Red Force will resume day three today at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy on 51-0 from 19 overs with Kyle Hope (18) and Amir Jangoo (32) at the crease.
Yesterday, the Guyanese skipper was in no playful mood as he pulverised the Red Force bowling after milking 165 from 360 balls with 18 fours.

The first wicket to fall yesterday was that of Vishaul Singh at 390 in the 139th over. Singh added a much-needed century from 211 balls accented with seven fours as the Jaguars piled on the pressure.

Anthony Bramble departed for a duck after facing two deliveries and skipper Johnson departed three runs later finally being caught by Jason Mohamed.
After him, Shivnarine Chanderpaul was the sixth wicket to fall at 402, for 2 runs, off 8 balls while Sherfane Rutherford went at 423, for 10.

Kemo Paul, who added a quick-fire 32 from 35 deliveries helped the scoreboard along nicely. He was the last wicket to fall as Veersammy Permaul and Gudakesh Motie were left not out on 31 (29) and 15 (18).

Bryan Charles ended with a five-wicket haul from his 43 overs after earlier being beaten badly by Johnson while there was one each for Daniel St Clair, Roshon Primus and Imran Khan.
