A 53-year-old man was on Wednesday sentenced to 6 months’ jail on a simple larceny charge by City Magistrate Fabayo Azore.
Rendrick Gary of Leopold Street confessed that on August 6 at Sussex Street, Charlestown, together with another, he stole a quantity of ladies and gents clothing valued $176,000 from Barbara Nedd.

“The other man get away with more things than me… all I get was boots, shirt and a pants” Gary told the court.
According to the facts read in court by Police prosecutor Simone Payne, on the day in question, Gary and his accomplice went into the woman’s store to buy clothes.

While tending to the defendant’s needs, the other man was putting items into a bag.
The woman then left and went into her storeroom and, upon her return, she saw the men running away and getting into a car with the clothing.
The magistrate, after considering that Gary did not waste the court’s time, sentenced him to 6 months’ imprisonment.
