CHARGES are to be laid shortly against the suspects involved in the murder of Kescia Branche, the Richard Ishmael Secondary School teacher who died days after being found battered in the City.

Crime Chief (Ag), Assistant Commissioner Paul Williams said Monday that one of the three suspects is the deceased’s son’s father, while the others are policemen.
“We are getting very good information, and I am asking the relatives, friends and members of the public to just bear with us as the Police Force will definitely solve that crime,” the Crime Chief said.

He said one of the reasons investigators are making such good progress is because of the wealth of support they are getting from the public.
Kescia’s father, Mr Alfred Branche said his family is quite satisfied with the pace of the investigations, and are confident that the police will do a thorough job, and that justice will eventually be served.

The 22-year-old school teacher died last Tuesday at the Georgetown Public Hospital, days after she was picked up in an unconscious state on a city street.
The young woman was severely beaten and dumped at the corner of Princes Street and Louisa Row in southern Georgetown.

Surveillance footage had led to the questioning of four police constables recently, but only two remain under close arrest. The ranks are attached to the Impact Base at the Brickdam Police Station.

On November 5, the First Street, Cummings Lodge resident was found on the roadway, unconscious. Her left leg was broken and there was every evidence that she’d sustained multiple head injuries.

She was hospitalised at the Georgetown Public Hospital’s Intensive Care Unit (ICU) where she subsequently died.
