Another man remanded on firearm-related charges

A 24-year-old Hunter Street, Albouystown resident was on Monday remanded to prison by Magistrate Leron Daly at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court for two-firearm related charges.

Travis Moore during his court appearance, denied that on October 12, he had a .32 revolver along with five matching rounds of ammunition in his possession, when he was not a licensed firearm holder.
Moore’s attorney, Tiffany Jeffery, told the court that her client and another person were nabbed by police in a taxi at Albouystown.
However, Police Prosecutor, Richard Harris, told the court that the firearm was found in Moore’s possession, and that the defendant admitted ownership in a caution statement taken by the police.
The Magistrate ruled in the prosecution’s favour and remanded Moore until October 30.

Police say two males; a 24-year-old and 30-year-old, were taken into custody following the discover of a .38 Revolver with four (4) live rounds by a Police Anti-Crime Unit patrol last evening in Albouystown, Georgetown.

According to a police source, the two suspects were in a motorcar when they were intercepted.

Investigations are continuing into the matter and the suspects are likely to be charged soon.
