U.S. AMBASSADOR Perry Holloway and his wife on Friday visited the Lethem Town Council.
The Ambassador met with Mayor of Lethem, Carlton Beckles, Town Clerk Keisha Vincent and councillors. In a release, the U.S. Embassy in Georgetown said Mayor Beckles took the opportunity to update the ambassador on a number of plans and projects being undertaken by the council and also extended an invitation to the ambassador and his wife to the Lethem Town Week.
The Ambassador’s visit to Lethem comes on the heels of the discovery of illegal airstrips and aircraft in the Rupununi in recent times.
