A suspected bandit was apprehended Friday afternoon following a robbery at Better Hope on the East Coast of Demerara .

Reports are that several bandits carried out a robbery in the area and while fleeing, the men encountered the police. Following a shoot-out one of the men was apprehended while the other fled the area.

Police are investigating the incident.
