ZURICH, (Reuters) – World soccer body FIFA said yesterday that the president of the Caribbean Football Union (CFU), Gordon Derrick, had been banned for six years from all soccer-related activities for violating several articles of FIFA’s ethical code.
The independent Ethics Committee found Derrick guilty of offering and accepting gifts or other benefits, FIFA said in a statement.
Derrick, who is also General Secretary of the Antigua and Barbuda Football Association (ABFA), was also ordered to pay a fine totalling 30 000 Swiss francs (£23 097), FIFA said.
