ROHAN Chand was sentenced to nine months in prison, when he appeared before Magistrate Leron Daly at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court on Friday,charged with stealing 17 cartons of cigarettes.

It is alleged that Chand on July 17, 2017, Chand broke and entered the Charlestown, Georgetown home of Rondel Hunt and stole the items valued at $61,600.
He pleaded guilty to the charge.

Reports are that on July 17, 2017, at about 00:45 hrs, Hunt secured his shop and went home but was later informed that Chan had stolen the cigarettes.
Chand was arrested and subsequently charged for stealing.
