IN racing, the newly introduced Sport Tuner division is regarded as one of the more closely contested classes and Daniel Deokie is gearing himself for just that, when the second National Race of Champions gets going on July 2.
Deokie, who will also be competing in the group two class, feels as though he is ready and raring to take on the challenge of competing in two classes.
He told Chronicle Sport, “I am mentally and physically fit as we speak. I’m heading into the second leg of the Race of Champions. I am ready to take on the charging force from the competition.”

“Right now, after the first round, I lead the championship so guys are going to be coming for me hard. It’s not hard to see why, but come raceway, I’m not expecting an easy time,” he continued.
“I never rule out and overlook any of the fellow drivers in my GP. It’s motor racing and anything could happen on that particular day,” he added.
Deokie, who holds the lead at the sport tuner class with 75 points after round one, noted that there are not many alterations that need to made to his car, adding, “the car is working fine. We will be making a few fine changes to the suspension”.
“What I can say is that I predict a good, quality day of racing and I’m also looking forward to it.

He further thanked his sponsors Toucan Industries, Payless Variety Store, Scott’s Jewellery, D&G Foreign Auto, Robbie’s Jewellery, Emran and Raymond General Auto and Super 95 Gas for their continued support.
The event is sponsored by Ansa McAl, Prem’s Electrical, B.M. Soat, Mohamed’s Enterprise, Ready Mix, Special Auto, Japarts, Ticket Master, Palm Court, KGM, MAC Batteries, S. Jagmohan Hardware Supplies and Construction, L Mahabir and Sons Cambio and Choke Gas Station.
