Minister Allicock recognised as ‘Person of the Year’

– 10 male Guyanese awarded as Golden Rule ‘Goodwill’ Ambassadors

VICE President and Minister of Indigenous Peoples’ Affairs, Sydney Allicock, was awarded Person of the Year for South America, while 10 other notable male Guyanese were appointed Goodwill Ambassadors from the iChange Nations International organization.
According to Founder and President of iChange Nations, Dr. Clyde Rivers, Minister Allicock was bestowed with this award for his efforts in fostering the development of indigenous people and hinterland communities.
“His development of the Indigenous communities has created great opportunities for education and skills development for gainful employment within the country,” Rivers related and expressed that the iChange Nations welcomes such a great leader in helping to change the world.
Ten male Guyanese were also awarded the Golden Rule Award of the iChange Nations International organization and recognized as Goodwill Ambassadors for their work in promoting peace and fostering development in Guyana.
The inaugural Golden Rule Awards was held on June 12, 2017 at the Umana Yana and notable awardees include: Assistant Commissioner of Police Operations, Clifton Hickens; Acting Director of Prisons, Gladwin Samuels; Reverend Martin Messiah and Executive Officer of the President’s Youth Award for the Republic of Guyana, Allister Collins.

According to the President of iChange Nations, “We’re looking to establish an initiative around the world,” and he related that true world peace can only be achieved if people treat others the way they themselves would like to be treated.
The 10 awardees alongside Minister Allicock were recognized because, as Rivers said, “Every country needs a role model.” They are now tasked with promoting peace while trying to develop Guyana, thereby promoting world development.
Dr. Clyde Rivers is a World Peace Ambassador and has been appointed the World Civility Spokesman. At the award ceremony, he awarded Golden Rule and Guyana Youth Ambassador, Dr. Astell Collins as a World Civility Ambassador.
Dr. Collins, who is a well-known leadership speaker and mentor, has been described by Dr. Rivers as a man of integrity and a man who shows willingness to effect positive changes in his country.
The iChange Nations is the World’s Largest Honouring Network, spanning across 122 countries. It functions as a new global ethic to support World Peace and it bestows the Golden Rule awards to worthy figures in countries.
