In accepting the donation, the First Lady commended the organisation for the kind gesture. “I would like to thank the CIOG for this presentation, which they have made to people who need and deserve our help.I am very sure that the recipients would be very pleased and appreciative of this gesture,” she said.
Director of Education and Chief Executive Officer of the CIOG, Shaykh Moeen-ul Hack, noted that giving back to those in need is in keeping with the beliefs of the Muslim faith, particularly at an auspicious time such as Ramadan.
“It is our holy month of fasting and we are further encouraged to increase our good deeds and our acts of kindness, so we are very happy that we have been given the opportunity once again to make the contribution towards our brothers and sisters who have suffered [in those regions],” Shaykh Moeen-ul Hack said.
Mr. Khakan Ramjohn, General Secretary of the CIOG, echoed similar sentiments, noting that the organisation is keen to give back to those in need. (Ministry of the Presidency)
