A 39-year-old Lethem resident is in police custody, after he was allegedly caught with 70 grams of cannabis on Friday night.

According to a police report, at about 20:00 hrs, the suspect was observed by ranks on a police patrol, was walking on the Takatu Bridge; on seeing the police, he quickly dropped a bag, which was retrieved and found to contain the illegal substance.

He is being processed for court.
